Taylor University Visit to English Study Program
Taylor University USA has visited English Language Education Study Program in the first month of 2023. The team of Taylor university consist of 2 lecturers (Dr. Jan Dormer and Dr. Megan Beard) and 9 students whose major is in education. They visited English Language Education Study Program aimed at conducting two main programs which are done in two days as the realization of the international collaborations between the two institutions.
Tuesday, 24 January 2023, was the first day to accomplish the planned program entitled Workshop on Best Practice Teaching to ESL Students. The workshop was officially opened by the third vice rector of Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. In addition, the workshop was initiated by seminar on Lesson Planning by Dr. Jan Dormer and continued by Assessment of English Learners by Dr. Megan Beard. After engaging attentively to the seminars which materials were intriguing, focus group discussion was done to discuss about Cultural Exchange and Preparation for Teaching). Then the workshop was ended with cultural learning and training about Balinese culture and Balinese dance as well as American dance.
All activities were done effectively and meaningfully. This first day program was joined by attendees and stakeholders of English Language Education Study Program such as the third vice rector, the dean and vice deans of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Head and Secretary of English Language Education Study Program, lecturers, students’ representatives, headmasters ,and alumni.
